The ingredient most brands skip.
A Swiss active from monk's pepper berries combined with acetyl tyrosine. It is one of the most expensive ingredients a tanning brand can buy, which is why you will struggle to find it on any other UK shelf.
One source. Made by a single biochemistry lab in Switzerland. No generic, no cheaper copy.
Signal and substrate. Monk's pepper extract primes melanocytes to respond to UV; acetyl tyrosine gives them the building block.
Used properly. At the level stated on this page, within the maker's recommended range, under licence from Solabia.

Inside the formula
Four actives,

Your skin makes melanin in stages. Tropic Like It's Hot covers them with four actives, adds a tingle complex of vanillyl butyl ether, ginger and black pepper extracts and hydrolysed sponge, and sits it all on a base of squalane, ceramide NP, sodium hyaluronate and collagen.
Stage 1: the building blockN-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine2%
The stable form of the amino acid your skin converts into melanin. Most accelerators list it at the bottom of the label. Here it sits above the emulsifiers.
Stage 2: the signalMelanoBronze (Vitex agnus-castus extract)2%
Primes melanocytes to respond sooner and more fully to the session you are having, and supplies more building block alongside it.
Stage 3: reinforcing the signalAcetyl Hexapeptide-1
A cosmetic peptide that mimics the hormone signal telling melanocytes to make pigment, so the response to UV is stronger and more even.
Stage 4: the transferNiacinamide2%
Supports the movement of finished pigment up to the surface where you can see it, and evens tone while it does.

How to use it
A 10p amount,
spread thin.
The actives absorb into the top layer of skin in minutes. That is where they work.
Prep. Patch test a small area 24 hours before first use. Exfoliate the day before, and skip freshly shaved or waxed skin.
Amount. A 10p-sized amount per area, spread thin until it disappears. More sits on the surface and does nothing extra.
Sunbed. Apply just before your session, keep it off your face, and wash your hands straight after.
Outdoors. Apply first, let it absorb, then your sunscreen over the top.
What to expect. A warming tingle that builds and then fades. If it becomes uncomfortable, rinse with cool water and do not reapply.

Will it tingle?
Yes, that is the point. Expect a warming tingle that builds after application and then fades. Everyone feels it differently, so patch test a small area 24 hours before first use.
Is it for beginners?
No. It is designed for experienced tanners. If you are new to accelerators, start with Island Coconut, Electric Melon or Vanilla Paradise.
Can I use it on my face?
No. Keep it off your face, and off broken, sensitive, or freshly shaved or waxed skin. Wash your hands after applying.
How much should I apply?
A 10p-sized amount per area, spread thin until it disappears. A 200ml tube lasts most people six to eight weeks used properly.
Does it contain SPF?
No. Outdoors, apply Tropic Like It's Hot first, let it absorb, then wear a separate broad-spectrum sunscreen over the top.

What does it smell like?

When will my order arrive?
Orders placed before 12pm, Monday to Friday, are dispatched the same day. After 12pm your order goes out the next working day. We often dispatch on Saturdays too, but cannot promise it. UK delivery then takes 1 to 2 working days, and shipping is free on orders over £40.
